SongDrop

SongDrop is a community forum designed to spotlight and support users’ favorite songs. The platform allows users to share tracks they love, explore music recommended by others, and engage in conversations around sound and personal taste. By centering the experience around music discovery and discussion, SongDrop creates a space where people can connect through shared listening rather than algorithms alone.

Building SongDrop made me think about how digital spaces can foster connection through something as simple as music. Instead of focusing on complex features, I wanted the platform to feel open and inviting, where sharing a song could be a meaningful form of self-expression. Through this project, I learned how important clarity and simplicity are in community-based design. Structuring posts, discussions, and user interactions helped me better understand how people navigate and contribute to online forums. SongDrop reinforced my interest in designing platforms that prioritize human connection and shared experience over engagement metrics.
